Microsoft released the Surface Laptop and Surface Pro last year, the devices failed to be compatible with USB Type-C and not many people found it funny. To redeem their image the tech giant revealed a Surface USB-C dongle same year and made a promise to launch it before the year runs out but couldn’t keep to their promise. Now we are in 2018 and Microsoft Surface USB-C dongle is expected to be launched sometime in the year.
A Representative of the software giant confirmed in a statement to the Verge that the waiting will soon be over as the USB-C Surface dongle is “on the roadmap for later this year.” Though not much is known as why Microsoft delayed the USB-C dongle, it is good to know that the company’s Surface Book 2 has now started supporting the new USB connector.
A twitter user @h0x0d tweeted what we believe to be the image of the Microsoft Surface Type-C adapter — see for yourself.
