Alibaba Cloud Plans To Connect 10 Billion Devices By 2023 On Its IoT Network

Alibaba Cloud is the computing unit of Alibaba Group. They have unveiled plans to connect 10 billion devices on its IoT platform in the next five years. This was declared in this year’s Cloud Computing Conference held in Shenzhen precisely March 28, 2018. Remember that in recent months, The Company also announced their partnership with STMicroelectronics, MediaTek among others which we believe will be of great help in achieving their plans.

Alibaba Cloud’s IoT solutions cover not only homes but smart city, manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computing.

Recall that earlier this year at CES, Alibaba A.I. Labs made an announcement of their collaboration with MediaTek in IoT initiatives dealing with smart home protocols, customized IoT chips and AI smart hardware. The product of both parties partnership resulted in their first Smart Mesh connectivity solution in China.

Alibaba Cloud created its Internet of Things (IoT) unit in April 2017, since then it has collaborated with at least 200 industries on its open source AliOS.
