[Check list here] Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) approves 22 companies to help in prepaid meter supply

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) recently approved twenty two (22) companies to become meter providers. The companies are said to be enlisted in the Commission’s latest meter regulatory framework called Meter Asset Provider (MAP).

NERC Head of Public Affairs, Usman Arabi, revealed that the twenty two (22) approved companies have ‘No Objection’ certificate given to them, which gives them the right to participate in meter procurement process.

The meter procurement process is targeted at aiding eleven (11) Electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos) in Nigeria bridge metering gaps in their networks and also reduce or end estimated electricity bills.

The following companies have been approved to participate in the Meter Asset Provider. They are:

  • Huawei Technology Company Nigeria Limited
  • Bilview Energy Limited
  • Chintech Electro Nigeria Limited
  • Holley Metering Limited
  • Meron Nigeria Limited
  • Integrated Power Limited
  • MBH Power Limited
  • Trimani Engineering Limited
  • Sapropel Energy Resources Limited
  • Megawatt Distribution International Limited
  • Unistar Hi-Tech Systems Limited
  • MOMAS Electricity Meters Manufacturing Company Limited

Other companies that made the list includes:

  • Imperial Infrastructure Development Company Limited
  • Ratio Consulting Limited
  • Protogy Global Services Limited
  • Paktim Metering Nigeria Limited
  • Sabrud Consortium Nigeria Limited
  • Tinuten Nigeria Limited
  • Kayz Consortium Limited
  • BTS Power Limited
  • CIG Metering Assets Nigeria Limited
  • Cresthill Energy Limited
