Last year, TechCrunch teamed up with Facebook to bring the Startup Battlefield to Sub-Saharan Africa, an event which we saw hosted at Nairobi, Kenya. This year, they have decided to do it again but this time around they are hosting it in Lagos, Nigeria.
According to TechCrunch, Startup Battlefield “brings the world’s top early stage startups together on one stage to compete for the coveted Disrupt Cup, a $50,000 prize, and the attention of media and investors.”
We will likely see top startup in Sub-Saharan Africa participating in the Battlefield. Participation is entirely free and open; it is beneficial to early stage startups who are encouraged to apply. Although the date which the event will hold is yet to be finalized, probably we are looking at early December 2018.
